
Patient Care Technician
The Patient Care Technician program combines basic knowledge with applied skills mastered in the classroom and laboratory. Graduates will be certified in CPR, First Aid and AED (Automatic Electronic Defibrillator). Students will also be eligible to take national certification exams to become certified as Phlebotomists, Patient Care Technicians and or EKG Technicians. The student will also possess skills forward secretary and monitor tech.

Patient care technicians work alongside doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals to provide direct patient care in a variety of health care environments. The patient care technician job description includes assisting patients with many tasks that they cannot do for themselves while they are in hospitals, rehabilitation clinics, assisted living facilities, nursing homes or long-term care facilities. Students will receive a certificate of completion from LowCounty Medical Training Center, needed to take the national certification exam given by the NHA. This program consists of 100 clock hours (10 weeks in class) and 1(40hrs clinical) week of clinical. You may assist patients with tasks such as eating, getting out of bed, taking a bath, and brushing their teeth and hair.

A $500.00 deposit is required at the time of registration. The remaining balance can be paid in full or through a convenient weekly payment plan of $165.20.

*Please note that tuition costs are subject to change based on updates to certification fees and course materials. Tuition and associated fees must be paid in full by the week before the last week of class.

LowCounty Medical Training Center does not have a late fee charge. If payments are not paid upon class completion, student will not be able to receive a certificate of completion, nor will the training center approve the student for certification test.
Transfer Credit
A student who has credit for previous education such as certificate of completion from another institution and/or training, must meet with Director to determine if such credit will be applied to LowCounty Medical Training Center, LLC, prior to acceptance into program. LowCounty Medical Training Center makes no claim or guarantee that credit earned will transfer to another institution.
Job Placement Assistance
LowCounty Medical Training Center does not provide job placement assistance. When the student completed a program, a completion of the certificate will be issued. This does not guarantee employment. A criminal record may prevent the student from obtaining employment.
