Nursing Assistant

The program will cover the physical comfort and safety function specified to Nursing Assistant. This includes modules on patient care, proper procedures for geriatric and adult patient’s right, law proving patient privacy and confidentiality, infection control, nutrition, physical and social support, legal and ethical consideration, and documentation. This program will be taught to provide and prepare students for the sate exam required to obtain certification from the state of South Carolina. After successful completion of the program (100 clock hours total 60 clock hours lecture, 40 clock hours clinical included) each student will receive a certificate of completion from LowCounty Medical Training Center, LLC. Student will register for NNAAP exam with Credentia and then be approved by the LCMTC administrator.

Requirements:

  • 17 years of age

  • PPD (tuberculosis Test)

  • SLED Background check (must be submitted by the first day of class)  BLS/CPR for Healthcare Provider’s certification

Responsibilities:

  • Employers will not pay graduates for knowledge of job skills that they do not allow nurse aide to perform. Nurse aide are unlicensed nursing personnel and perform nursing task under the supervision of a registered nurse or selected licensed practical nurse. Task that licensed nursing personnel may delegate to unlicensed nursing personnel are restricted by law.

  • Graduates may expect to be employed at entry-level wages. Entry level wages vary with employers, contact potential employers for specifics.

  • The program will prepare graduates for employment; credit for this training may not transfer to another institution. This program consists of 6 weeks of lecture (60 clock hours) and 1 week of clinical (40 clinical hours).  Students are allowed to make up 8 hours only of lecture. No make-up hours offered for clinicals.

A $450 deposit is required at the time of registration. The remaining balance can be paid in full or through a convenient weekly payment plan of $165.20.

*Please note that tuition costs are subject to change based on updates to certification fees and course materials. Tuition and associated fees must be paid in full by the week before the last week of class.

LowCounty Medical Training Center does not have a late fee charge. If payments are not paid upon class completion, student will not be able to receive a certificate of completion, nor will the training center approve the student for certification test.

Transfer Credit

A student who has credit for previous education such as certificate of completion from another institution and/or training, must meet with Director to determine if such credit will be applied to LowCounty Medical Training Center, LLC, prior to acceptance into program. LowCounty Medical Training Center makes no claim or guarantee that credit earned will transfer to another institution.

Job Placement Assistance

LowCounty Medical Training Center does not provide job placement assistance.  When the student completed a program, a completion of the certificate will be issued. This does not guarantee employment. A criminal record may prevent the student from obtaining employment.
